Orchard Point Harbour at the Narrows

The history of Orchard Point at the Narrows as a gathering place runs deep. More than 4,500 years ago, the Huron Wendat built a system of fish weirs at the Narrows between Lake Simcoe and Lake Couchiching. Then in 1880, a summer inn was built at Orchard Point. It later became a hospital and then was changed back to an inn, complete with a dance hall. Its popularity continued until the inn was destroyed in a fire in 1957.

“Exclusive condominium community on the Lake Simcoe waterfront will make a dramatic statement of style.”

Today, the 1.2-hectare site enters its newest and “most opulent” phase as the site of Orchard Point Harbour, an “exclusive” condominium community by Mutual Development Corporation. Orchard Point is designed to deliver a dramatic statement of style and status.

The three buildings that will make up Orchard Point will have Muskoka-inspired architecture, with accents of stone and timber to fit in with the landscape of the Point, which has 500 metres of waterfront on Lake Simcoe.

“residents will be able to watch boats travel on the Trent-Severn Waterway to reach Georgian Bay from Lake Ontario”

About 70 per cent of the 49 units in the six-storey building that makes up Phase 1 have already sold out and first occupancies have taken place. Prices start at $260,000 for a 1,000-square-foot one-bedroom unit with two bathrooms. Top of the range is an 1,800-square-foot two-bedroom unit with two terraces overlooking the lake for $925,000.

Phase 2 is now released and will have 89 suites, with all suites having spectacular views of Lake Simcoe. The next building will be eight storeys and will contain the exclusive Narrows Club for the residents of both phases.

Orchard Point is a secluded and quiet site, but it is just a five-minute drive from Casino Rama”

The site will be landscaped and will include walkways and a harbour with a pier and 60 boat slips that will be made available to residents on a yet-to-be-determined lease arrangement. From the pier, which will be complete with a seating area, residents will be able to watch boats travel on the Trent-Severn Waterway to reach Georgian Bay from Lake Ontario.

All suites will have a lake view and come standard with a terrace or balcony. There will be two high speed elevators and secure underground parking, which will be brightly lit and have a sprinkler system. Each building will be linked with underground access to the Narrows Club, which will be available for private parties and family gatherings. The club building will have floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows overlooking the water.

The Penthouse Suite features include gourmet kitchens with granite countertops, soaker tubs in main bathrooms, ceramic tiles in foyers, kitchens and bathrooms, hardwood flooring in the dining room and hallway and 50-ounce broadloom in bedrooms. Prices also include five stainless steel appliances including a refrigerator, a 30-inch range hood vented to the outside, a built-in dishwasher and stacked washer/dryer unit. Other amenities include individually controlled heating and cooling systems, doubleglazed thermal vinyl windows, colonial style doors and sliding glass double doors to an outside terrace.
